About 50's Pin Up
Pin Up photography dates back to the 1800’s. The images are of attractive, scantily clad women. Usually the models look seductive, flirty and innocent. Ideally the focus is on the subject with minimal backgrounds and props. The style is fun and sexy.
Historically these full color drawings were made by talented artists who depicted models who posed for them. Movie stars often had their images drawn for publicity shots before the invention of color photography.
Posters, postcards, calendars, advertisements and magazine pin-ups featured these drawings which were enormously popular from the 30’s through the 50’s.
Pin-up art crossed over into photography, which became especially prevalent during the 40’s and 50’s. Many of these featured models were aspiring starlets such as Marilyn Monroe and Bettie Page. Most had the “the girl next door” look and a few caught the attention of movie producers and moguls and became famous actresses in Hollywood.
The goal of modern pin up photography is to capture the essence of these vintage drawings and photographs by creating artistic and glamorous images that are one-of-kind treasures.
All images are kept in strict confidence. The lab that I trust and use always safeguards the privacy of my client’s images. It is a high priority to ensure that your privacy is protected.
